How do I turn off Read Receipts?

šŸ¤“
A read receipt is when you see ā€œReadā€ with a timestamp under a text message. Helpful if you want to know if someone has read your message, but not helpful if you don’t. To manage these, go to Settings > Messages > Read Receipts > turn on or off.

You may still see these receipts on your end which means the sender has them turned on. If you turn them off, they won’t see it on their end.

Spring Cleaning - iPhone Safety Check-up

I’ve been cleaning out my closets as I go through what I like to call a ā€œminimalist phaseā€ and I’m thinking it’s probably time for an online clean up as well. Here are a few things you can do to stay safe and up to date.

1. Check your passwords - Settings > Passwords > Security Recommendations
Passwords often appear in data leaks, and recently, even I was victim to this. Don’t fret, though. Your iPhone actually lets you know what passwords have ended up in a data leak and will recommend which ones to change. You’ll also get recommendations in this area of your phone which passwords are overused.

2. Update, Update, UPDATE!
I can’t say this enough. You shouldn’t still be running IOS15 or even 16. Check to make sure you have the latest - iOS 17.4
Settings> General > Software Update > Check for Updates.

Make sure to also keep your Browser Updated too - Chrome will show you a down arrow in the top corner, or send you a notification that updates are available. Other browsers will often get updates too, so keep an eye out!

3. App Updates
This is a given. Automatic app updates can be turned on so you don’t have to think about it. Here’s how - Settings > App Store > Toggle on App Updates

If you want to do it manually, open the App Store App, tap your face, then scroll down to Upcoming Updates. Update them all. šŸ¤“

There, doesn’t that feel better?

MacBooks got a PRICE CUT!

If you’re in the market for a new MacBook, there is a KILLER sale going on right now on the 2020 Models. I’m all about renewed stuff, and I’ve got my eye on this guy right here. $647 for a MacBook Air is unheard of, for real!
Anyway - that and the MacBook Pro’s from 2020 are both flying off the shelves for a huge discount. TAKE ADVANTAGE! I’m actually opting for the Air - I have a MacBook Pro (2017 Model) and the Air is lighter and a little smaller to tote around or pull out while working in my car!
