How do you know if your phone has been hacked, and what do you do?

šŸ¤“ While hacking isnā€™t common on newer phones, especially iPhones, it can happen. Usually via phishing links (which is why you should always avoid suspicious links). Anyway, so how can you tell?

Your phone will start doing random odd things. Like apps will open or screens will close without your interaction. Watch for overall odd behaviors. If you think you might have fallen victim to hacking, hereā€™s what you can do.

  1. Back up your phone.

  2. Reset your phone to factory settings (On a iPhone: Settings > General > scroll to bottom to Reset)

  3. Set it back up as a new phone from backup.

Is Your Tech Keeping You Up?

Ok, okā€¦ as a techgirl who works at random in the evening, and even in my bed, tech does tend to mess a little bit with my sleep. Raise your hand if you look at a tablet, your phone, or even watch tv before bed. (I see you!)

Itā€™s not easy to disconnect, but recently I came across a really great tip sheet from my friends over at makeuseof.com with helpful tips to ā€œSleep better with Techā€. I couldnā€™t check all these boxes, but there are some things here I hadnā€™t thought of!

Vegas Vacation Highlights

This past week techgirl hubby and I spent time during our annual Las Vegas trip. As Iā€™m sitting here typing at 30,000 ft in my exit row seat (gotta have the legroom) I thought Iā€™d share some of the great moments from the week.

  • We saw David Copperfield!

As a kid I loved watching him on tv do the most incredible magic.. remember when he made the Statue of Liberty disappear? Seeing him in person was amazing. I was surprised that he hadnā€™t aged a whole lot - and he still has his witty charm. I sadly did not get called on stage to ā€œassistā€, but my inner child was starstruck and in awe by the magic in person. He doesnā€™t just stick to the stage, heā€™s up close in the audience.

  • Our stay at Vdara Hotel + Spa

Ok, we usually like to hang at Ceasarā€™s Palace, but this year we took a chance on a non-casino resort. My favorite part about it - 100% smoke free (thatā€™s not the case in most hotel casinos). Also - it was smack in the middle of a free tram (yep, free) that got us around, and there was an indoor walkway that connected to Bellagio and Cosmopolitan. Great for those 98 degree days! Plus, we could watch the fountains from our room and tune in to the music from our TV. What more could you want?
